What the hell is fullness factor?
Fullness factor is a measure of satiety. Satiety is how filling a food is.
There are many variables that go into how filling a food is, but lucky for us, some very smart people studied the issue extensively.
The people at Nutrition Data looked at over a dozen studies and came up with a formula for measuring which foods will make you the most full with the fewest calories.
Getting full while still eating low amounts of calories is a win-win for body fat loss.
Hereโs the formula:
FF=MAX(0.5, MIN(5.0, 41.7/CAL^0.7 + 0.05*PR + 6.17E-4*DF^3 - 7.25E-6*TF^3 + 0.617))
where CAL is total Calories per 100g (30 minimum),
PR is grams Protein per 100g (30 maximum),
DF is grams Dietary Fiber per 100g (12 maximum), and
TF is grams total Fat per 100g (50 maximum).
